Free School Meals
Children from F2 to Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day, funded by the Government.
In addition to this, same children may be eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant.
Pupil Premium Grant
If you are on low income and receive one of the benefits listed below, you can apply for additional funding to help to support your child's educational achievement. The school will be able to explain to you how it uses this extra funding.
If your child qualifies for the Pupil Premium Grant, they will also be able to continue receiving free school school meals from Year 3 onwards. Children from Foundation 2 to the end of Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal as part of Universal Free School Meals.
To qualify for free school meals for your child, you must receive one of the following:
- Income support
- Income-based job seeker’s allowance
- Income-related employment and support allowance
- Child Tax Credit - provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income that does not exceed £16,190
- The guarantee element of the State Pension Credit
